Japfa Comfeed plans new feed mill in Central Sulawesi

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk, one of the largest integrated agri-food companies in the country, plans to build a new animal feed factory in Central Sulawesi if the government provides 100,000 hectares of land for growing corn.
Head of Region I PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Yahya Djanggola revealed that a feed mill would require 500,000 tonnes of corn for proper production. To produce this amount, 100,000 hectares of land would need to be allocated to grow corn.
Corn is the main feedstock in animal feed manufacturing. Currently corn supplies for Central Sulawesi come from East Java and South Kalimantan.
